Canceling EVS Protection in a CSDR Service Instance

You can cancel the protection for an EVS disk that has been deleted on the ECS/BMS or a protected EVS disk on the BMS.

Prerequisites

  • A CSDR instance has been successfully applied for ECSs/BMSs.
  • Status of the service instance is Normal.
  • An ECS/BMS has been added.
  • Multiple EVS disks have been attached to the ECS/BMS.
  • You have obtained a VDC administrator account or a VDC operator account and the password.

Procedure

  1. Log in to ManageOne as a VDC administrator or a VDC operator using a browser.

  2. Select your region and then project from the drop-down list on the top menu bar.
  3. Detach the EVS disk which is canceled protection from an ECS/BMS. For details, see Operation Help Center > Detaching an EVS disk.
  4. On the top of the navigation bar, click Console, choose Storage > Cloud Server Disaster Recovery.
  5. Click on the left of the service instance to which the desired ECS/BMS belongs. For details about how to query a service instance, see Viewing Information About a CSDR Service Instance.
  6. Select the target service instance and click Update on the upper left of the instance list.

    A confirmation dialog box is displayed.

  7. Click OK. The update is complete.

    NOTE:

    After you click OK, Status of the service instance updated changes to Locked. In this case, you need to click in the upper right of the page to manually refresh the page to view the status change of the service instance. After the update is complete, Status changes to Normal.

  8. Click Cancel Protection in the row where the desired ECS/BMS resides.

    The Cancel Protection page is displayed.

  9. Select Cancel EVS Protection.
  10. Select the desired EVS disk.

    NOTE:
    • If a protected EVS disk in an ECS is in the Volume detached state, you can cancel the EVS disk protection.
    • You can cancel the EVS disk protection in a BMS when the EVS disk is in the Protected or Volume detached state.

  11. Click OK.

    The warning dialog box is displayed.

  12. Click OK.
  13. If the service instance for which you want to cancel EVS protection requires approval, contact the administrator for approval. If no, skip this step.
